After the birth of her second child and undergoing a Caesarean section, Susan Mior knew she needed to make a change. With the help of a former BodyBlitz Grand Champion, she lost a total of eight kilos
What a ride this BodyBlitz challenge has been! I decided to get fit straight after my second child was born. During my pregnancy I managed to continue with some weight training and cardio, but I also used the excuse that I was pregnant and eating for two, so not only was I putting on baby kilos but also carb kilos. I knew that if I didn’t do something about my eating habits I was going to be wearing my preggie clothes for a long time.
I knew that if I didn’t push myself straight away that I would spiral out of control, put on more weight, feel miserable and potentially suffer from post-natal depression.
Due to my Caesarean section I was out of action for six weeks after the birth, but I was determined to get fit and lose the kilos. During this time I came across an issue of Women’s Health & Fitness that featured my PT, Jenny Kozuharoff, as the BodyBlitz Grand Champion. Reading her story, and many more like it, inspired me to try the BodyBlitz challenge, as like so many other women I wanted to commit myself to such a challenge and be able to achieve amazing results.
It has been a hard yet rewarding 12 weeks. By around week five I was feeling ready to give up. I just wasn’t seeing any results for the amount of hard work I was putting in. But when I got to week nine, I started seeing results and began to love my new body.
I enjoyed all my training sessions and also my growing bond to my trusty elliptical cross-trainer in the living area of my home – which, I might add, I struggled to even look at in the beginning of the challenge.
I am now a lot fitter and I have more tone and definition than ever before. Most importantly, I have really learnt to appreciate and enjoy healthy eating. I have so much more energy and confidence, and I love the way my clothes fit.
I owe a big thank you to Jenny, who helped change my body shape. Being a BodyBlitz winner herself, she not only motivated me but also encouraged me when the going got tough.
My partner and family have been so patient and encouraging over the last 12 weeks. Between getting to my training sessions, exercising at home and juggling a toddler and baby, it has been a busy but hugely rewarding experience.
